Song Book

she forgot the sun

she forgot the sun

they all thought she was wilder

in the presence of wonder

unattainable .

he recites poems

running up and down hills

a blazing thunderbolt

outshouting the surf

sensational .

she  forgot the other ones

they cannot hide

they are around the epicenter

a lever used to move the world

confrontational .

he is the hunter

catching light in his net

he is the Christ message

cosmic cathedrals

inspirational .

the lemur , I’m about to loose my mind

sharing common ancestry

sunworshipping , taboos revered

humanities song book

untraceable .

they see a second sun

a light around the equator

as the ring around Saturn

a diamond on her delicate finger

unmistakable .

she forgot the sun

she forgot the sun

he thinks of poems

everything real in its aromatic

reeking glory , the presence of her wonder

rotational , gravitational , insatiable .

life was staggeringly unpredictable

his map took her breath away

fate was swift , the verging sea

her skin could blindside anyone

wild in its sacred scent

the sun falls .

    1. How kind of you sweet Noelle , thank you …I was wondering if I could please use some of your recent photos of spring blooming in one of my future poems … They are stunning in their beauty ! Hugs , megxxx

  1. Your writing slows me down, Meg, and invites awareness of a deeper level of breathing that carries upon it the first. All the meetings you arrange take place outside of time, which makes them even more delicate and human in their unfolding than one expects. The collage of words, images, and colors remind me how profusely Love has enfolded itself into the world, and I thank you for that…

  2. A doe never grows old, only wiser and wilder. I love these journeys into the enchanting forest of your mind, Meg.

    1. Julie … Our journeys connections ( yours and mine ) are weavings of delight and mystery for me … I sense you behind that pine tree , with doe eyes bright … Thank you deer friend ! Love , megxxx

      1. It is in everything if one ‘feels’ it and takes the time to ‘Look’… I loved reading and residing within the energy you created within your words Meg.. a true Gift you have with your creative sound! 🙂 ❤

  5. I love the way you use words, Meg, and this poem is such a fine example of that! And I am a huge Natalie Merchant fan, so your choice of song was particularly apt too… 😀

  6. Dear Meg!…. I love the poetic delivery here… So mesmerizing and mystical…
I love the She character… For she becomes wilder and unattainable, in the presence of wonder
[a blazing thunderbolt]… The possible encounter between he and she would be an unique event for sure.
Thanks for sharing. I hope you have a wonderful sunday and week ahead. Aquileana 🍒 🍒

    1. Aquileana …I’m humbled by your presence here with your kind generous heart ..thank you and I must tell you that I often go back to your mystical blog and am inspired by the mythology you write so beautifully of and for showing me that it all exists in the spiritual realm and helps me understand and accept the wildness in each others lives as it is now …love and hugs , megxxx

  7. Beautiful poem Meg! Something about your poetry is so transcendent, so beautiful…

    These lines,

    “he is the hunter

    catching light in his net

    he is the Christ message

    cosmic cathedrals

    inspirational .”

and the photo below them, made me think of this poem I wrote once, and the Orion Hunter Constellation, and the 7 Sisters star-cluster, known as the Pleiades, that mythology says Orion pursued:

“An ax that daily grinds, the nose to the stone
Cut off to spite my face, to throw off the trace
Seeing pink elephants, spiders, some snakes
The latter of these fled, I escaped the wolves
Out of education books, no eyes’d ever spied
Only read instinctively, doggedly til dogeared
I turned a corner in life, into this Timberwolf’s
Hunting huntress love, to raise up some pups”

    Job 9:9-12 was an inspiration,

“9 who made the Bear and Orion,
    the Pleiades and the chambers of the south;
10 who does great things beyond searching out,
    and marvelous things beyond number.
    11 Behold, he passes by me, and I see him not;
he moves on, but I do not perceive him.
12 Behold, he snatches away; who can turn him back?
Who will say to him, ‘What are you doing?’”

    …in connection with 2 Peter 1:3-4,

“3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.”

Anyways, great post my friend! Take Luck!

    1. Wow Ry ! …the biblical passages you share make my heart stop …You always enrich in such a powerful way and I remain so very grateful to know you …thank you for adding the videos which I have never seen and giving such depth to my own post …and Ry , dear Ry , thank you for the highest compliment you could give me , ” transcendent ” …as i now have the opportunity to give glory and gratefulness to the Divine for his gift of poetry .
In praise of Divine Love for all of us , love megxxx
